Archive for June, 2011

This is the first post of a monthly series that I am planning on publishing. This is how it’ll work (unless of course I change my mind): I’ll make a collage of pictures from the month and give each one a little caption. Then below I’ll say a few words about the picture or some other little anecdote. By the time she is one year old, I’ll have the beginnings of a book that can be printed out as a keepsake. I hope you enjoy 🙂May 2011

Avery Rose Walton – My First Month

Grandma Suz gifted Avery with her very first photo shoot and of course she knocked ’em dead. Prints are in the mail to friends and family.

Welcome to the World

This month Avery embarked on a new adventure… life! She was born on the beautiful morning of April 28th at 9:13 am and as a Walton, she was welcomed into the world right in the hot tub. I won’t go into all the details of the birth, but for those of you who are interested, check out the blog post about it on Carol’s blog – our Hypnobirthing Instructor.

Just Brand New

Healthy, alert and beautiful, Avery weighed in at 8 lbs and 14 oz and measured 22 inches long. Later that week she passed all her tests, exams and check-ups with flying colors. She is one healthy girl.

The Four Generations

Lots of family and friends came to visit and meet Avery and also bring us yummy food as we all got adjusted. With all the grandparents and great grandparents around there is no doubt that Avery is surrounded with endless love! Avery is the first grand-baby on her mom’s side of the family and the second grand-baby and fourth great grand-baby on her daddy’s side of the family.

All Smiles

Do you see that dimple there? So darling!

Day Five

From the get-go Avery has been very alert and “wide-eyed”. Her favorite things to do are eat, sleep, poop, take baths, get lots of love and be bounced to sleep. As of recent, she loves to play a new game that her mommy calls “run, run, run” where mom makes her legs run, jump, kick, dance, do a yoga pose, ride a bike, walk and stretch. This may be one of those games you have to see to believe how much she likes it.

Babs the Bear

Avery’s first fury friend, Babs, was a gift from Grandpa Callaway. It might be fun to track her growth compared to Babs until she’s taller than him! He’s a pretty cool friend and a very good listener. Thanks Grandpa!

Mommy Loves Me…

…Duh! I am home from work for another couple of months and am enjoying all the time I get to spend with Avery, her daddy and all our friends and family. We’ve taken walks on the beach, hung out by the pool and even had a visit with the chiropractor. Mostly I sit and stare at her face, she’s just so darn cute!

Daddy Kisses

Avery’s favorite, of course. Dad is doing well. He took two weeks off from work to be with me and the baby. Summer is slow at work though so he’s home 3 days a week at least. Dad is also great at taking Avery for walks around the house, getting everything ready for bath time, laundry and taking care of mom when she is taking care of baby.

Silly Faces

One of Avery’s favorite things to do is make super cute or silly faces after she wakes up from a nap. Yes, post nap time is one of the best photo opps!

Over Memorial Day Weekend Unlce Luke, Auntie Bre, Uncle Tuffy, Aunt Gina and cousin Olivia came to visit. It was the first time that Avery and Olivia got to meet. Olivia is almost exactly 6 months older than Avery and I am sure that they’ll have a lifetime of good times together. Grandma Suz and Grandma Terri come by to visit and treat us to dinner quite a bit too. We’re so lucky!

Ten Little Tootsies

Each time I take Avery out of her crib she looks bigger. She seems to be growing so fast, already! At her three week check up she had gained almost a pound and a half. I’m looking forward to getting to know her and be with her as she grows up as I am sure you are too. I’ve taken lots of video of our little Avery and to keep from boring you on this blog post with all of them, I’ve uploaded them all to our YouTube Channel.
